Winning brand assets win the shopper.
I create valuable, distinctive collateral that aligns with brand identity, the reason to believe, and closes the deal.
The examples I show here are one-sheets created in my most recent role. I wrote the copy and helped art direct the designs.
Throughout my career, I’ve successfully leveraged the power of social media to generate strong sales, exponentially increase leads, and exemplify stellar customer service.
SM posts/feeds are a direct extension of brand. I aim for quality of followers and engagement above quantity — building relationships and loyalty as opposed to just connections. When writing posts, as with all my other copywriting, I always lead with the benefit of the message to the reader.
While working at The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction, I devised a #TBT (i.e., "Throw Back Thursday") campaign to showcase exceptional former covers from its more than 60-year history. It drove engagement and garnered followers.
In a different role, as the social media lead for an ad agency, I doubled their followers in key channels in less than six months. I also created and curated a dedicated Facebook page to represent a key philanthropic partnership.

I have rich experience in the complete process of bringing a new product to market. From conceptualization, market/segment research, consumer panels and focus groups, branding, — and much more — to launch, I’ve successfully done it all.
Some mockups and mood boards for CPG product concepts I created.
A mood board provides narrative.
Seeing is believing in product mock-ups.
A product tagline and packaging color recommendation.
I created these product mock-ups and collaborated on the variant concepts.
I've overseen multiple million+ piece direct mail campaigns; doing everything from writing mailpiece copy and art directing design to tracking performance.
I’m often the art director of the marketing campaigns I create and execute. I really enjoy working in multiple creative mediums — digital or otherwise. I taught myself Adobe Photoshop. I created this web portfolio from scratch; all art, images, design is my own, unless noted.
In my personal life, I enjoy portraiture and abstract painting.

Building a successful brand begins and ends with its most captive audience. The importance of developing and delivering an employer brand can't be understated.
Consistently delivered and useful newsletters, emailed employee profiles, and verbal/written updates on team wins keep internal stakeholders informed and unified.

This monthly, emailed employee profile was done through Mailchimp.
I create and present current events and trends presentations geared toward a specific audience and/or a certain market segment.
I presented the Covergirl team with an overview on the Tweens consumer and developed and proposed a line of experiential lip glosses.
I partnered with the Gillette team to develop a line of men’s body washes based on a gap analysis I conducted on the millennial male.
I recently volunteered and presented a beginner's guide to social media to a group of seniors at a local retirement community.

I create architectural, kinetic art ensembles. Mesmerizing, joyful, and uniquely fascinating, they move like graceful spectrals. Reminiscent of the 1960s take on the space age and modernism — they feature bold lines, unique textures, a wide range of materials, and pops of rich color. Thus the moniker “Retro-Specs”.
A nod to Calder’s “Stabiles”, they are the physical manifestation of my curiosity, kaleidoscoping thoughts (each piece features small works of art within the art), and love of 3D collage.
The first piece featured here is entitled “Rigamarole” (available at the Yucca Valley, CA store "The End"). The second is “Rhyme and Reason" (Sold). The third is "Flabbergast” (Sold). The piece titles are terms that frequently appear in Norton Juster’s allegorical masterpiece, The Phantom Tollbooth. This seminal work and the accompanying expressive, often brutalist illustrations of Village Voice satirist Jules Feiffer ignited my imagination as a child and continue to inspire me today.
Finally, the last ensemble featured here was commissioned by a lovely local boutique, “Hi-Desert Daydream”, in Twentynine Palms, CA (near Joshua Tree National Park and East of Palm Springs, CA). It was made of mostly found objects and aimed to be a symbolic celebration of the innate contrasts found in the high desert region of Southern California.
